The program is here to make your travel experience as smooth and stress free as possible. We provide helpful information and resources for passengers with disabilities, medical conditions, or anyone who needs a little extra assistance during the security screening process. If you require assistance or have questions, contact TSA cares up to 72 hours before your flight for guidance and support.  For hands on help at the airport, you can also request a TSA passenger Support Specialist. These specialists are TSA officers with advanced training in assisting individuals with special circumstances while using a TSA passenger Support Specialist does not exempt you from standard security screening, it ensures that you'll have someone by your side to guide you every step of the way.

Wounded Warriors.

TSA is committed to providing specialized screening assistance for injured service members, veterans and wounded warriors by identifying yourself as a wounded warrior, you can receive tailored support at the security checkpoint ensuring your unique needs are met to streamline the process. TSA can share your travel information with the airport in advance to accommodate specific requirements, such as traveling with a service animal or managing medical equipment. Additionally, wounded warriors and veterans are eligible to apply for TSA Pre check, which offers expedited screening for a quicker and more efficient airport experience

Traveling with a service dog.

TSA recognizes the essential role service dogs play and aims to provide a hassle free travel experience for you and your companion at the checkpoint, a TSA specialist will be available to assist you and ensure the screening process is handled with care. Your service dog may be screened using explosive detection equipment or metal detectors if you prefer, you can request a pat down as an alternative. Rest assured, TSA will never separate you from your service dog or ask that it be removed from its harness.

Traveling with a mobility device.

If you're traveling with a wheelchair or mobility device, TSA cares can help make the checkpoint process easier. Arriving early is recommended to allow enough time for screening. If you can stand and walk, you may use advanced imaging or a metal detector, otherwise a respectful pat down will be conducted. Shoes that cannot be removed will require additional screening and mobility. Devices, including cushions and non removable parts, will be inspected while removable items are x rayed. Medications over 3.4 ounces are allowed, but must be declared to a TSA officer. You can also request a private screening for added comfort and privacy.
