Portugal is well known for its food and fine wine, miles of beautiful coastline, outstanding surf and superb golf courses. The Douro Valley is best visited between April and November. In this area you can enjoy wine tasting, join grape harvests, explore wine villages, or take a historical train ride from Regua to Tua.
The Alentejo region covers most of the country and enjoys hiking through scenic natural landscapes, ancient megalithic complex's built between the 6th and 3rd millenium BC, some of the best wine tasting is in this area, traditional cooking classes and historic towns.
Algarve is along the southern most point, dramatic cliffs and rugged coastlines, lighthouses and coastal villages offer a taste of local life.
